Shopping malls have recently earned popular visits from the Ghanaian population, both residents and tourists. Shopping malls in Ghana have become a central part of the economic development of the country.

Shopping malls in Ghana have steadily been increasing over the last decade, and they are continually meeting the various domestic and leisure needs of Ghanaians.

Since there are several shopping malls distributed widely across the country, there are some shopping malls ranking above others as a result of the number of people they welcome. Such shopping malls in Ghana are:

1. Accra Mall

Accra Mall is a state-of-the-art retail and shopping center located at Plot C11, Tetteh Quarshie Interchange, Spintex Road, Accra, Ghana, and offers a wide range of products and services from both local and international brands.

Accra Mall provides a different mix of shoppers, ranging from expats and high-income earners to middle-income earners. The mall was commissioned on July 4, 2008, and it is one of the most modern Western-style shopping centers in West Africa and the first large-scale mall in Ghana. The mall is an enclosed, fully air-conditioned shopping centre.

Accra Mall has a retail space of 21,311m2 with parking for over 66,0 and it is anchored by South African giants, Game and Shoprite. The mall, which is amongst the best shopping malls in Ghana, accommodates over 70-line shops, a radio station, a 5-hall cinema, and 12 restaurants, of which 50% are operated by Ghanaian retailers.

2. Marina Shopping Mall

Marina Mall is one of the leading shopping malls in Ghana. It’s located in Accra’s most promising and exciting district. Marina Mall is a dual commercial development owned by Marina Market.

The mall has a six-level Tower for offices with an approximate area of 3,250 sqm occupied by Nestle Central and West Africa, Technip Ghana/UK, and Hess Ghana Exploration. With more than 45 outlets and a gross leasable area of 9,000 sqm spread across three floors.

Marina Mall features a mix of designer fashion brands, a kids’ entertainment place, a huge supermarket, and a varied food court.

3. Kumasi City Mall

The Kumasi City Mall is a state-of-the-art retail and shopping center in Kumasi, located precisely on the Asokwa Interchange off Kumasi Adum or Labor Road. The mall was commissioned on April 20, 2017, and it is one of the most modern Western-style shopping malls in Ghana and West Africa at large.

The mall is designed as an open shopping Centre and has a retail space of 18,534 square meters with parking for over 660 cars.

4. Achimota Mall

The Achimota Mall was built purposely to trap people who live in Achimota, Dome, Lapaz, St. Johns or Ashongman, who travel longer journeys to shop or hang out.

Achimota Retail Centre, which is amongst the best shopping malls in Ghana, provides the best of everything you need at the right prices. It has lots of stores in one secure location for shopping, food, household products, and fashion, which has never been this fulfilling and rewarding.

The retail center is located at St. John Dome Road, Achimota, Ghana, and operates on Monday – Sunday between 9 am – 9 pm.

5. SG Mall

SG Mall is located in the heart of Kumasi’s business district, with GPS address AK-251-4979 | Kumasi. It is ranked amongst the best shopping malls in Ghana, and it is an ultra-modern mall for all your shopping needs, relaxation, games, movies, and groceries.

6. WEST HILLS Mall

West Hills was established in 2014 and has built its brand to become one of Accra’s most sought-after trading centers in Ghana. The shopping destination is a frequent and popular hangout spot.

The mall covers a land square meter of 27,700 and also has parking space for over 1,500 cars. It also hosts famous fashion brands like Edgars, Mango, and Identity, and notable telecommunication services.

7. China Mall

China Mall, which is located at Ashaiman, is definitely amongst the best shopping malls in Ghana and provides nice products at affordable prices, from food, decor, kitchen items, and bedroom furnishings.

It is located exactly at ASH -TEMA MOTORWAY INDUSTRIAL LI/ASH/A1 and operates from Monday to Sunday within the following hours

  1. Mondays (09:00–19:30)
  2. Tuesdays (09:00–19:30)
  3. Wednesdays (9:00–19:30)
  4. Thursdays (09:00–19:30)
  5. Fridays (09:00–19:30)
  6. Saturdays (09:00–19:30)
  7. Sundays (10:00–18:3)

8. Junction Mall

The Junction Mall is a huge yet organized retail hub that accommodates renowned brands like Samsung, Hisense, and Shoprite.

The mall is located in a six-level tower, which is designed for offices and plazas with an approximate area of 11,511 square meters. It offers comfort and entertainment for tourists, families, and their kids with its range of recreational facilities.

The shopping center has 40 stores, and the food court also has eateries, including
