Abraham Norman Nortey was recently bestowed with the prestigious Kofi Annan Youth Inspirational Award in 2023 during the International Mental Health and Well-being Conference. This global conference brings together a diverse array of intellectuals, professionals, students, and prominent figures from around the world to engage in discussions concerning mental health.

Commencing on September 27, 2023, the conference kicked off with a ceremony honoring outstanding individuals. Among the recipients, Mr. Abraham Norman Nortey was the proud recipient of the esteemed Kofi Annan Youth Inspirational Award for Leadership and Community Service.

These awards, named in honor of the late former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, were established by the Mental Health and Well-being Foundation. They pay homage to Kofi Annan’s unwavering commitment to the development of young individuals who actively participate in community initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the less fortunate.
This program aims to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional contributions of young leaders dedicated to community service.
The award was presented by Prof. Lydia Aziator, Vice Chancellor of UHAS, who highlighted Abraham Norman Nortey’s impressive track record of community service and extended her best wishes for his future endeavors.
Abraham Norman Nortey is a distinguished young individual holding accredited degrees in MHFA, BSc, MPH, and MBA, and is currently pursuing an MBChB. His remarkable record of community service and leadership is well-documented.
He previously served as President of the Ghana Association of Medical Biochemistry Students (UHAS-GAMBIMBS) and the National Health Students’ Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) for the Volta, Central & Eastern Zones. Additionally, he held the esteemed position of former President in the National Ghana Biochemistry Student Association (GHABSA).
His leadership extends to his role as the former Student Representative Council (SRC) President of the University of Health and Allied Sciences and the former Graduate President of the National Association of Public Health Students of GIMPA.
