MTN Foundation Scholarship Application

You can apply for the MTN foundation scholarships if you meet the eligibility requirements and can prove hardworking, as well as why you need this financial aid for your studies.

The MTN Ghana Foundation was launched in 2007 as a single-purpose vehicle to drive all MTN’s CSR initiatives in Ghana.

The Foundation currently has three main objectives these include Health, Education, and Economic Empowerment. Here is an overview of the MTN Foundation Scholarship.

The MTN Foundation Scholarship is an initiative which has been set up to aid brilliant but needy student to continue their education. In this article, you will learn about how to apply for the MTN Foundation scholarship to aid you in furthering your education.

Requirements

These are the materials you will need, or you must have to be able to apply for the MTN foundation scholarship.

  1. You must have good academic results.
  2. Prove that you are hardworking and committed to achieving higher heights in your education.
  3. You must be a first-year student or a continuing student in any of the accredited tertiary institutions across the country.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must be a student who comes from any of the regions in Ghana.

Requirements for First-Year Students

If you are a newly admitted student in any of the accredited tertiary institutions in Ghana. Then these are what you will need to be able to successfully submit an application to be considered for the MTN Foundation scholarship.

  1. Applicants should have credit passes in six (6) subjects, averaging 24 in the WASSCE/SSSCE.
  2. Three (3) of the subjects must be any of the core subjects, i.e, English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and/or Social Studies. The remaining three (3) should be any of the relevant elective subjects.

NOTE: For the purpose of this scholarship, a credit pass means

  • WASSCE: A1 – C6
  • SSSCE: A – D

Requirements for Continuing Students

For students already in school, these are what you will be required to submit to be successfully considered for the scholarship.

  1. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  2. Be actively involved in any extracurricular activity.
  3. Must prove to be without any academic disciplinary or serve any bond to be of good behavior.

MTN Foundation Scholarship Benefits

Students who are successful in this application have numerous benefits, including:

  • Full payment of tuition.
  • Full payment of accommodation.
  • Regular Stipends.
  • Money for books and other learning materials.

How To Apply For The MTN Foundation Scholarship

Follow these steps to apply for the scholarship

  1. Visit scholarships.mtn.com.gh or download the application form here.
  2. You can also visit any of the selected MTN Services Centers or regional offices nationwide to pick up and submit forms. These include, Accra branch, Tamale branch, Wa Branch, Bolgatanga Branch, Kumasi(Nhyaeso) Branch, Takoradi Main Beach Road, the Cape Coast branch, Ho Branch, MTN House, Sunyani Branch, Koforidua Main Branch.
  3. Applicants must also attach a one-page letter of motivation or reason why MTN Ghana should consider them for the scholarship. This should touch on your academic and future goals
  4. Applicants must add a copy of their WASSCE/SSSCE results, a written testimonial, and an admission letter.
  5. The application should also add proof of nationality.

NOTE 

  • The application is free.
  • If you have any other form of scholarship, please do not apply.
  • Priority would be given to persons pursuing courses in ICT, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and data analytics.
  • Women and Persons with disability are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who lived and attended school in Bono East, Ahafo region, Savannah region, North East region, Western North region, and Oti region.

The Foundation is established as a separate legal entity with its own Board of Directors and Patrons who manage the operations of the Foundation. Its commitment is focused on the socio-economic development of the country through the roll out of appropriate and sustainable social interventions in communities all over the country.

The main objective of the Foundation is to have a relevant impact on the community and support national and international development priorities.
