Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif has clinched the prestigious award for ‘West African Artiste of the Year’ at the Headies Awards 2023. This significant win solidifies his position as a dominant force in West African music.

West African Artiste of The Year

The ‘West African Artiste of the Year’ category recognized artists of West African descent who made substantial contributions to the continent’s music scene during the year. Black Sherif’s unique style and storytelling have set him apart, earning him this well-deserved accolade.

While he was also nominated for ‘African Artiste of the Year,‘ which was won by Rema, this award further underscores his growing global influence beyond West Africa.

The Headies Awards 2023, held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, celebrated the increasing prominence of African music on the global stage. Black Sherif expressed gratitude to the people of Ghana, Nigeria, and Konongo Zongo while accepting the award.
