List of Universities in Ghana Accredited by GTEC

Editorial

Catholic University Ghana

Ghana boasts a vibrant higher education landscape with a diverse array of universities, each contributing to the nation’s academic growth. For this list, we focus on accredited tertiary-level institutions that offer degrees.

Notably, some smaller private universities are affiliated with larger public institutions, often referred to as “university colleges.” The term “polytechnics” is also used to categorize certain institutions.

Ghana’s educational landscape extends beyond traditional universities. This includes local branches of foreign universities and institutions that provide classes for students who sit for exams at larger Ghanaian universities’ distance education centers.

Accreditation of universities and colleges is overseen by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
