Ghanaian Dancehall sensation Jupitar recently disclosed that his smash hit “Enemies” was shockingly omitted from the VGMA nominations in 2015, despite its widespread popularity. In an interview on TV3 New Day, Jupitar shared his career journey and the significant impact this snub had on his trajectory.
He reminisced about the powerful resonance of “Enemies” during that era, making it all the more surprising that it was left out.
Jupitar lamented the unequal acknowledgment of artists’ efforts within the industry, expressing that despite comparable achievements and international recognition, local recognition remains lacking.
He revealed that he sometimes refrains from intense promotion due to this perceived disparity. Jupitar, who has recently released a new track titled “Stand By,” underlined the importance of VGMA and similar awards while advocating for a more comprehensive appreciation of artists’ contributions.
